The Clinton Art Society (CAS) recently celebrated its 60th anniversary and is looking forward to another exciting year in 2010. CAS was established in 1949 by a small group of professional artists dedicated to growth of the arts along the Connecticut shoreline. The organization has grown to nearly 300 members, including 70 elected artists. The CAS has become a vibrant influence on the arts in Connecticut and its members represent towns across Connecticut and throughout New England. Member artists work in all fine-art media including painting and sculpture. Their collective talents bring styles ranging traditional to abstract.

2010 Member Show Announced

All CAS members (elected and associate members) are invited to participate in the annual member show in March and April at the Henry Carter Hull Library in Clinton (located on Route 81 near the Clinton Premium Outlets.). The show is non-juried and submissions are limited to one per member. Due to space limitations, please limit the frame size to no wider than 18". Receiving is on March 1 from 3 pm to 6 pm. Pick-up is April 30 from 3 pm to 5 pm and May 1 from 10 am to 12 pm.  Please have your work ready to hand and sculptures must have a stand.

CAS Exhibits at Simply Pearls and More in Westbrook

CAS members now have expanded exhibition opportunities through the generosity of Simply Pearls and More in Westbrook (located in the Shops at Water's Edge.) Thank you to the owners of Simply Pearls!

Each exhibition will last two months and will feature two CAS artists. The new exhibition is  underway now with the beautiful work of Joanne McCarty and BJ Helander. The current show features the beautiful works of BJ Helander and Joanne McCarty through mid-December. Simply Pearls is hosting an opening reception on Tuesday, Nov, 3 from 6 to 9 pm.
